Yesterday I found this in a bank roll while roll hunting.
I would like to determine it's worth, should I send it in for grading?

No but it's a nice find. The fees would eat up all the value.

I agree with the others, but I'm curious about one thing. Can you give us a close-up of the mark on the bison's hind quarters just below "UNUM"?

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

If it were a 1914-D, THEN I'd suggest sending it in, but not as a Philly 1914, which are around in pretty nice shape in numbers most people would not expect.

I don't know what could have caused it. Maybe someone else can give us a clue.

That's a very good and unusual find!

That mark is a die clash of the junction of the jaw and neck of the Native American on the obverse. It is commonly seen on Buffalo Nickels, especially on the earlier dates.

I find it hard to believe that this coin XF 1914 5c was found roll searching.
The only way is if someone appropriated it from a collection and spent it.
The date and details are way too sharp for this coin to have been in circulation for any length of time. It only takes a few years for the dates to disappear off of Buffalo's and SLQ's.

I agree but I love to find them in the wild!
