I have been trying to renew my subscription to Numismaster for three weeks now without success. I was wondering if others have encountered the same problems. The website no longer has an option to renew for more than one month at a time. I have always renewed for a year at a time (for many years). Monthly ends up costing about twice what I last paid for yearly. Also, it will not accept the code which the ANA claims is valid for a 25% discount. So I tried calling the 800 number given on the site. They had no knowledge of what I was talking about, insisting that I tell them which magazine I wanted to renew! I called several times hoping to find someone who knew. One person even put the phone down on me in mid-sentence when I was trying to explain that it was not a magazine I wanted to renew but access to the online database. I have sent e-mails to Krause and got replies telling me to call numbers which did not work or send e-mails to address which, based on responses, were wrong. The last e-mail response I got told me they would forward it to the appropriate person and I have heard nothing back. I really think they have a terrible service department. But their product is worthwhile if for nothing more than finding coins because their interface is so much better than other options like the NGC search option, which uses Krause but has no flexibility. So, I am not looking for alternatives - I know about them - but curious as to if anyone else has been given such a runaround and if anyone knows of a solution.
Not sure what number I called as it was a couple of weeks ago. Whatever I found on their website. I'll give that one a try. Thanks.
Maybe give Dave Harper a shout at Numismatic News. He may be able to dig something up for you. He's usually pretty good with helping people out. Copy and paste what you wrote above so you don't have to do it all over again.
Thanks Tommy. I had already thought about that. That was going to be my next step if I got no useful information here. I have 21 days before my subscription expires so I figured I would send something to him if I had not made any progress by the weekend.
