Damascus is read on left field of reverse in this Arab Byzantine coin of the Standing Caliph series. I have another similar coin where Damascus is engraved on the right field. I need to clean it.

Can we just let this thread die? Please.

We'd rather ask big brother Bing about this. I don't mind either way.

I'm enjoying the thread. I think it can be ignored with the "thread tools" option if one does not want to follow it.

@Bing you're not going to believe this. The coin you just posted is the EXACT coin I'm trying to attribute.

I just opened the bag, set the coin on the table and at the same time opened CT. An alert for your post was the first one I clicked - lol and behold, I'm looking at an exact clone of the coin sitting in front of me!!?!?!?!?!

Man I would love to grab one of those! I wanted to get a coin from the Iceni as I lived in their territory.

I wonder if you mean "coin" or "type"? Do you mean it is a different coin of the same type and variety?

Going by her mints on WW, if it was Siscia on yours, then yeah it would be western. I can't tell on your coin, but even if it wasn't, your next theme kind of renders the whole question moot for the purpose of this thread :D

The coin looked exactly like the one posted by @Bing - the legend, bust, reverse, mint, all of it. I didn't mean to imply that I had somehow ended up with that exact coin he posted. This is another of the same tyro and variety.

How about posting it? I would like to see it. Maybe in it's pwn thread?

No, it is a magic coin that can be in 2 places at once. Actually 3 places, I have it too. Want to buy it from me? Only 4 grand, a steal. And you can sell it twice and still keep it!
