Genuinely curious, I am about to buy 36 90% halves @ 6 each, for each of the 36 for a total of $210. Is this a bargain, or kinda risky?
Kirkuleez beat me to it. Decent buy for precious metal. I remember when I first started getting into 90% halves, they were 11+ dollars per coin at my local shops. Of course silver was twice as high though.
At $6 each that's a good deal, but w/o seeing them I would imagine they are junk Ag with no numismatic value...welcome to CT.
Well, we took $6 each x 36 coins = $216, and for an even number, took it to $210. They also threw in 2 Ben Franks for free.
If you want to start a collection, you could buy 2 or 3 MS graded Walkers for the same money. Good luck.
Honestly they had them in 2 rolls, and they are looking like only 3 or 4 or Ag, and the rest looked pretty good, I even seen about 6 BU
Oh, I thought you meant average to good. Nah they are definitely all shiners, I don't really know the line between average and junk, but they are definitely over the line. Only one is really oxidized.
Thanks, I am aware haha wasn't sure of the terminology, I thought you meant grading, they were obviously silver, that's why I assumed that.
In that case, it's always a good deal when you can help a friend. I don't know what your finances are like, but I'd give the nicest one back to them as a keepsake from their grandfather.
That is a sad to hear your friend has a family crisis. I would pay a little extra just to help them out.
