Ditto. It looks like a classic reeded edge hit. Keep in mind that silver is/was softer then cupronickel and showed such marks far more readily. I think it may have even come before a bag - just dropping into the struck coin bin. Now if those dots are raised, we have another issue.
I don't have one handy but is the inside of the ear normal? Almost appears as a die chip. @Fred Weinberg
