64 Kennedy error??

    Would appreciate any input about this coin as to whether it is a mint error. Note the region above the ear to the left beginning of ear. Thanks. IMG_5049.JPG

    Ditto. It looks like a classic reeded edge hit. Keep in mind that silver is/was softer then cupronickel and showed such marks far more readily. I think it may have even come before a bag - just dropping into the struck coin bin.

    Now if those dots are raised, we have another issue.

    Bag marks from another
    reeded edge 50C coin hitting
    the surface of your coin.

    I don't have one handy but is the inside of the ear normal? Almost appears as a die chip. @Fred Weinberg
