I would leave this lovely note in the PMG holder. The choice grade and EPQ designation are fully adequate for this beauty.
Call me nuts but i actually like the 40 better ! just more eye appealing 60-63 Gem grades usually have more severe issues.
I swear the 40 looks better than the 63. It's the most undergraded note I've ever seen. And not even close.
I have been collecting and grading paper money for years, you will find that the Grading system in place now makes very little sense, for instance a 64 is almost always better then a 65, though its considered a lower grade a 65 is notorious For centering issues and does not offer as good eye appeal, and whens the last Time you saw a 60 ? i have maybe seen one or two, 61,s and 62,s maybe a few of those but,s it,s a real small number A/U 50, 53,55,58 always more desirable Then a 60-63 plus it sounds better and always have better eye appeal and centering.
Photos and scans of notes can be deceptive . When I first posted this note, almost everyone that viewed it said, "it looks way better than the grade", but in hand and viewed but the right lighting and angle, it reveals its true condition.
The note and the grade go hand in hand but regardless of the number you Want something that has good eye appeal and notes in that scale generally do not.
Lyons-Treat is my jam. Usually the second rarest sig combo, I go after it when I can, where I can. Would love a Buffalo with it but that's a hard get, do have the Black Eagle, MiniPort Deuce, and Chief in that signature combination. Much, much rarer than most. Yours is a very nice one...
Pics can be deceptive some times but that note is exceptional A/U grades have very Good eye appeal and a great value, congrats on that edition
Thank you. I have learned a thing or two from here on what to look for as far as getting superior notes for their grade/price. This particular one has nice centering, color, eye appeal, and little molestation (of the paper). A nice note for the grade indeed!
As noted, tough on pics, maybe 53? Seems to have some handling on the top and bottom edges but 1) could be just pictures and 2) I am not really great at grading once you hit AU and higher... I'd be happy to have it in my Lyons Treat frame though! Speaking of notes... the STACK is BACK. Good Lord I just scanned it almost to completion a month or so ago, and then a sudden surge in good luck came my way and crap. Another stack. I haven't even finished posting notes from like 4 stacks ago. So I better get cracking. New pickup post soon... behold, the new stack... EDIT: Moth#$^&ing PHOTOBUCKET. Time for that gaggle of spares to die, die, die. Okay, NOW here is the new stack...
Okay, so, I have been... several months derelict in posting. I go on vacation for a month, and then... I am off the wagon. Forgive. Let me pick up, where I left off... this remainder deuce from Louisiana. Louisiana made alot of beautiful notes, probably because the backing was for crap. But they sure LOOKED purdy...
Well lets round out the Citizens' Bank series with my favorite denomination, the Troix... which is suitable considering the predilection toward Francois in them there parts. I like this note alot, another bit of high quality engraving on this remainder, and hey, it's a $3, which is like a $2, only weirder...
Ooh that's awesome. So the reason they are not signed, they were in the drawer, but they were never issued?
