Saw this in an auction and due to my impulsive nature, I jumped on it. (Yes, pretty much everything except the Trajan denarius was somewhat an impulse buy.) The coin hasn't even arrived, so these are the sellers pics. Feel free to post your Quintillus coins, or your impulse buys!

    Quintillus, AD 270.
Billon Antoninianus, 20mm, 3.7g, 6h; Mediolanum (Milan) mint.
Obv.: IMP C M AVR CL QVINTILLVS AVG; Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev.: FIDES MILITVM; Fides standing left, holding standard and spear; in right field, Є.
    Reference: RIC V(a) 18

I've got one Quintillus in my collection. Pretty worn but the legend is just legible.

I was surprised to see how high it went. Mine was less than $10.

    Still a nice coin.

You're lucky I'm not buying these days...I love military themed coins and would have gone after it. Nice addition.

When I priced them they seemed to be much higher than that. Being new, maybe I missed something.

    Thanks, and thanks to @Svarog.

The entire story of his rise, and fall, was fascinating.

Mat's $10 Quintillus is a market anomaly - a total steal! At malls like vcoins and ma-shops, or elsewhere, you'd pay at least double for the OP coin.

Very nice and interesting example @GerardV !

Mat and Svarog have super posts as well.

I have one that I purchased off HA---it cost about $135.00 hammer if I recall correctly...with the usual slabbed sellers photo:

Nice capture @GerardV ! Fun to find gems out there for a good deal. @Mat is one of the KINGS of that.

My only Quintillus (He forgot to rinse out the shampoo when it was picture day...)

nice OP and some very good examples posted. i just purchased this one last week for $8.64 delivered simply because he was lacking in my collection. (the seller had also misspelled his name) his is a tragic story, as with a lot of those in this time period. he's the 1st i know of that committed suicide by slitting his wrist and really had a lot of coins minted for being emperor for less time than Otho. Quintillus was around when the mint reached its lowest point on quality workmanship so you have to pay a little more for good legends and eye appeal. His coins are not all that rare but Mat's coin is far from a $10 level.
    $26 (too much?)
