I bought a box of coins at the local auction a few weeks back and found these three mixed in with the lot. I would greatly appreciate any ID help that anyone could give. Apologies for poor scans, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't coax any more details out of the little suckers. #1 - Weighs in at 3.8 grams http://www.leagueofnations.net/cpimg/unknown-1a.jpg http://www.leagueofnations.net/cpimg/unknown-1b.jpg #2 - Weighs in at 2.3 grams http://www.leagueofnations.net/cpimg/unknown-2a.jpg http://www.leagueofnations.net/cpimg/unknown-2b.jpg #3 - Weighs in at 1.6 grams This coin I suspect might be a half centenionalis of Constantine II, but I'm really just guessing. http://www.leagueofnations.net/cpimg/unknown-3a.jpg http://www.leagueofnations.net/cpimg/unknown-3b.jpg Thanks, LordCo
Hello, At first and quick glance, I would say : #1 : Licinius #2 : Julian II caesar #3 : Constantius II Cucumbor
They're all AE3's most likely, we don't know the exact names of the denominations. Also, the Julian II was minted at Thessalonica, Epsilon officinae. The Licinius looks to be a barbaric imitation of an Alexandria AE3 or follis.
