PCGS Grading at a Coin Show?

    Hey friends,
I heard PCGS is going to put on a coin show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, or at minimum going to be there in a big way. I know at many of the shows they attend, they will grade coins at the show itself. Anyone here ever have a coin graded at a coin show by them? Just wondering how it went, you know, how long does it take, and what kind of price are we talking about? Anyone care to share their experience? dblthumb2.gif ~Cheers!

When? Are they trustable in grading/testing?

Ps: This is an email I got from a test engineer:
    "Dear Erol,
Thank your for inquiry at xxxxx.
I`m speaking at the biggest crash conference in the USA in Las Vegas at the moment.
I will send you all xxxxx on Friday.
    Best regards
    xxxxxxx..."

While you are at it, in Las Vegas, give a penny coin or two to those crash test engineers. They'll be better in testing&grading.

The show grading policies are a bit misleading . . . If you desire affordable service, you really need to submit your coins early on the first day of the show in order to have them back before the show ends. If you submit them late in the day, or on the second day, the coins often end up going back to Newport Beach for completion before being shipped to you at your expense.

You can submit your coins for same day grading, but at extremely high cost . . . not for the faint-hearted.

It needs to be a really important coin to cover the fees. Too much for the type of coins I collect.

Off topic. I do enjoy the savings on just dropping off coins at a show. It's great to only pay the shipping and insurance, one way.

    Also off-topic!
I did this for many years with NGC at the FUN Show, but even better was when I could make the one-hour (or so) drive to the NGC office in Sarasota to deliver the coins in person and then drive back when they called a couple of weeks later to tell me that they were ready. It was a good excuse for Mom and I to stop at St. Armand's Key for lunch on the drive back.

So you chose to have fun with that same money? Lets see. Shipping cost or a great lunch. I'll go with the lunch and a good time with mom.

These emoticons. Too many. I had to search what it meant. Confused?
Why confused? I just added a doubt, to an already doubtful thing and I did that indirectly, by giving an example in a more concrete field, crash test engineering and their show/conference in the same place, Las Vegas. (What doubt? It is about the trust based on non-error. I mentioned about that in the thread "coin with/out numeral".)

The P.C.G.S. policies & pricing are not misleading they spell it out for you in black & white. The show prices run from $250.00 down to $12.00 its all in what you want ( the service ). The time frame maybe as little as 4 hours or go to the end of the show. Please don't tell how the water is if you don't want to get in the water yourself. Off the soapbox for now C U later.

Ya know, it seems you are more proficient at having a negative attitude more than anything else.:pompous:

By the way, all you have to do is place your cursor on the emoticon, and it will tell you what it means.:meh:

Do you mean here I am 'pompous' proficient by having negative attitude against the PCGS? Just because I mentioned about the doubt and the trust? Not a reasonable doubt? Look, ok, I take my this word back. Anyway, OP, "fretboard" may lose only some money if any error is done when his coin is graded. It is not so serious thing, not as much serious as in case of an error which can be done by crash test engineers, which may cost life/s. And, you know what? I've heard that some crash test engineering companies are manipulating tests&data. Well, they are experts, much more knowledgable than an "average Joe" like me in their field and it'll be easier for them experts to do such things to "average Joe". No, I'm not saying anything about their specializations and intentions when I mentioned about the "trust" here. What I meant by that is told here in last two posts here:
    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/coin-without-any-number-figure.299880/page-18

What is Coin Grading? "Grading is a way of determining the physical condition of a coin...." https://www.pcgs.com/whatiscoingrading --- That's, it is a multidiscipline engineering work. Yes, I have also an engineering in my background, but, no, I'm never experienced in the coins in that sense. And, I'm not putting my nose into their specializations of these experts https://www.pcgs.com/experts/ . However, yes, I'm putting my nose into every field, from engineers to doctors to poors to presidents, etc etc and yes, to numismatist experts as well. Whoever has any amount of money in his pocket has no "integrity" sufficiently if she/he has no one coin in her/his pocket. This is not only my business, they too should put their nose into their own business/pocket which also requires one coin... Damn interesting thing, isn't it.

Ps: I've been away from the internet almost for a decade. I see there are too many emoticons now. I can't compete in that. I'll use only one, a simple smile, ok? :)

I think you are so full of it that your eyes are brown, and I think @fretboard has been around here long enough to recognize worthless information when he sees it.

Perhaps all of us should quit :yack::yack::yack::yack: about how much we know in other fields and only post opinions about coins that we can back up. If you know ancients, great - teach us. If you have never sent a coin to a TPGS...

For example, I don't post about the two 24-hour races I drove in France. You won't read that I was the 14th person to climb the five tallest peaks in the U.S. or the several engineering patents I have. No comments about the massive oil field I discovered as a rookie Geologist right out of college or the chemistry for the turquois color I came up with for anodized aluminum. There is a good reason...:vomit:

OP asked some questions. I gave an answer from another point of view which I already explained. And, I'm not playing. Anyway, this is my last post in this thread. (I asked Chris et al a question here in the last post which may/can/should/must/etc be answered by anyone in any field from 7 to 777 years old https://www.cointalk.com/threads/coin-without-any-number-figure.299880/page-18 ) That's it.

What was the name of the band you played in? From what I heard you were the lead horn. But what do I know I am only an old coin collector. But if want I could tell you about my adventures from around the world, forgot this is a coin forum.
