And this is another reason why I lost interest in searching cent rolls. I would see something like this and it would be....nothing...
Oh yeah for sure, varieties are another big reason. But wheats are what got me started and still the closest to my heart.
@Andy stewart It's a Misaligned Die Strike with Die Deterioration Doubling. Nothing major. I would pay like $1.00 for an example such as yours just for the Misaligned Strike.
Yak. I have only today realized that Lincoln is wearing a bow tie. How geeky. I wonder if the clip on had been invented yet?
Andy, what you have is a Lincoln 1C cent...this is a Penny...a very pretty, red, Penny. Welcome to CT
Keep looking, learning, and asking questions. Good eye for detail and the best way to learn. Thanks for the image. You are a numismatist, don't worry about "what's it worth" monetarily, think about the knowledge you are gaining and passing on. "This is my hobby, I do it for fun."
I like your Penny's more than mine. Since there always is the correction from penny to cent, it got me thinking. I've used penny more than cent since I was a kid, and everyone in our area did too. I wonder if it is a regional mis-speak?
I don't think it really makes any difference...unless you are the penny lady...and I've heard that she is the guru. More fun than anything else. Best to all. http://www.thepennylady.com/
