Found these cleaning some stuff out of my grandpappys storage - thought you guys might be able to help me begin
I saw a few Somali elephant coins that are very collectible. Not a big value but they are popular and fetch a few bucks. Also saw a Lebanese 1 piastre that sells for about a dollar, and the Mexican large 20 centavos are the same. The others I saw looked like common coins, but there might be more buried in the pile that I couldn't see clearly.
You can start by organizing the coins neatly and showing better pics of the Obverse and Reverse. Maybe 4 coins per picture.
That'd be me lol... I found a couple of my old ones -,I put them in there I know I wouldn't lose them. Coming up on seven years.
Just control your expectations. Often times a family member's collection has more sentimental value than numismatic value . . .
Congrats on the 6+ years of sobriety!! Also, I think your photographs are beautiful as artistic statements.
That would be my profession lol Photography... these were with my phone. I kept thinking "how did she see my website" then I reviewed the images I posted and saw some say how to photograph them and it came to me... Ty so much
Also I know I won't get rich doing this but I think I could make a few bucks photographing coinage with a pretty serious macro lens!
expectations lead to premeditated resentments - no time for that! I know what your saying - I am a realist lol
Actually, I didn't see anything about how to photograph anything. I just appreciated your photographs. So, that's sort of crazy, but also not, since I have been around some extraordinary photographs and photograph planning/taking/making in my day. There are other CT members who take wonderful professional photographs of coins. I know that some are on the ancients forum - on other forums, too. You can search and see what they are doing if you want to. Some have posted lots of technical information and results of photographic comparative tests they conducted. I personally love the way @Curtisimo and @Deacon Ray shoot and artistically present their coins. There are others who are more purely technical about it.
Awesome - I got the 7 year itch or something - midlife ??? Who knows - thank God it's not day 1 I appreciate this group for making me welcome!!
