Hello Everyone, I've been looking through alot of nickel rolls these past 2 months and have been seeing a few S mint nickels. I've also been going through cent rolls for a while but have only kept wheat P,D & S Cents. Is it worth it to keep S Mint Nickels & later Lincoln's like 68-S etc?
Typical examples probably aren't worth the effort unless you collect them. Nice examples in nice condition probably are and, of course, varieties are always keepers. There were enough of these coins saved that they are all pretty easily found in unc. This doesn't apply to all moderns, just the early S mint ones.
i keep all the S minted cents and all the S minted nickels except 1970. i don't see them very often, and they are lower mintaged than the P and D coins. i think they will be sought after in the future since that mint is not making coins for circulation any more.
