Picked up a DANSCO Jefferson Nickel album for one coin in particular (everything before 1964 was circulated, except a couple war nickels) - and here's that gorgeous 1944 D with Full Steps:

Now, when I got home I decided to check the other dates for varieties and found my FIRST 1942 D/Horizontal D in the wild (I paid through the nose for an ANACS VF20 a while ago.)

    Thank you!

1943 Steel Lincolns, a '43 'copper' and a roll of Lincolns to sort through. Cool stuff. For all the coins I have about, the steelies are a first for my collection.:woot:

Two more proof sets that i happily got from @sonlarson. Very nice sets again.
They don't have the hazy look as some appear to have in the pics, they look near flawless, mirrors with awesome cameo contrast. Once again he gave a great deal, and still has (I think) more awesome mint, and proof sets available. Worth checking out for sure.
(world coins, I know) but since I posted the first two sets here...

I'm actually pretty proud of this pickup. I think i got a pretty good price at 12 dollars..
Let me know what you think! I love the circulated color but it still has a lot of good detail. 20170918_132725.jpg 20170918_132736.jpg

image.jpeg image.jpeg This 3 cent nickel was in the same package as my seated quarter coming back from PCGS. The story from the former owner is that he found it in his pocket change. I told my friendly coin shop owner Dave, that I would be interested in buying it if the other fellow was interested in selling.

He was, and I did! $320.00 out the door. Did I do good?

New arrival. My late mother in law immigrated through Ellis Island in 1945.

Also scored a couple of barber dimes metal detecting yesterday. They're in rough shape but the price was right.

One looks like someone tried to punch a hole through it but gave up. I also scratched the crap out of it, trying to recover it within a nightmare of tree roots. Otherwise would have been a pretty nice dime.

An 1853 gold dollar with great surfaces . . .

A flashy 1901 quarter eagle (dialed down the contrast because the luster is very bright)

    A very nice high grade 1925-D QE, destined for a TPG . . .

I bought this one because it was such a steal and I was going to sell it to help fund a different coin or if it wowed me in hand just use it to upgrade my date set. Of course the latter happened and I don't want to get rid of it lol

I don't even care that it's a half point overgraded (it is) it's just got such a great glossy patina (don't know how to describe it but I think morgan collectors know the look I'm talking about) and the colors just pop so well especially the reds. Cool coin.
