I found a 1909 p once, oldest I've found. Wish I found the 10 and 12 S cents though! Nice finds guys. Oh, and congrats on your find! Nice find. :thumb: What's the condition? Phoenix
Just out of curiosity, what denomination was the roll you found it in. My oldest is a tie between a 1912 Wheat Cent and a 1912D Barber Half (in VF-XF condition to boot, full Liberty on head and full lines on the shield) Don't know where the thread is, but someone posted awhile back about finding a real from the 1700's in a bag of dimes.
1919, and 1918 wheats a couple of weeks ago....Lots of 30's, and tons of 40's still out there..I do a box of pennys almost everyday.......I keep all 1970, and earlier, and cherry pick all the 70's, 80's, and newer......Wish I would have stated this 30 years ago....My goal is to put away a box of pennys every week, and not touch them...In 30 years or so I can either go thru them, or sell as unseached boxes for big bucks....Tom
I bought (2) $25 boxes of pennies (cents) today, the wife has the roll searching bug after finding a wheat cent Sunday night in change !! I'll post any goodies Monday. Edit: We are saving all copper cents
I found a 1888 indian that was really bad shape. i guess that why no one kept it. other than that a 1910 wheat.
i know this isn't older than 1920, but my oldest is a 1938 jefferson nickel. i've only done 30 rolls of nickels though.
