I left it like that because that's what it looks like when you turn it over. The obverse is tapered and it's a pretty chunky coin.

When shooting a coin with a taper edge it helps to bounce some light on that edge so yo can see the taper. It keeps the two from looking different in size.
LOL, yeah. I can only give ONE "Like" per RO's threads. Posting the same coin several times with a different pic does not collect extra "Like" from me for each pic change of the same coin.
No, I just found it today metal detecting. It's in wonderful condition. I'll post pics up just as soon as I've had my tea. I've only found references to the aureus and images of bronze coins such as this one. My first ever gold!
