    It would be nice if the "CENT" was posted in the proper orientation and cropped.
    Looks like it may be a dropped letter.

    It looks pretty convincingly like a faded 8. Think someone could have purposely done that?

    I dont think so...its in the coin its self in the metal almost looked like a smeared 1..but i guess you never know ....
