Hello I have started collecting as a hobby and have come across a £2 coin with a typo. On searching I have found that there have been some found with Premember Premember the fifth of November but I have Remember Remember the fifth of Novembep Thanks in advance for any opinions
Sorry for being non-techie ive taken a pic on my phone how do I get it here Its ok Ill work it out ... Back soon
the third side looks pretty beat up, circulated. it is going to be difficult to attribute. good luck!
Thank you for your welcome ive looked under a microscope and it really is just a p I know there were some reported typos of R on remember but I can not find any on the November.. I appreciate your welcome
Don't let any of us scare you off you will find out all kinds of things here, lots of them very worthwhile. I just lost my newby title.
Looks to me like some damage to the collar that was to impress that text, turning an R into a P. If it's happened on this coin, you should be able to find others that have found it as well.
Thanks for the reply. I do not think the pic does it any good. Looking at the P it really does not look like it has been changed
I'm not sure how you could tell that, but if that's the case then it would be a mint variety that most likely you should be able to find already documented somewhere. You need the guy that collects these to answer.
