i found this crhing. I tried everything I had to get a good close up and the three attachments are the best that I can do. My question is, is this real? If you cannot tell from the photo, how would I distinguish between a genuine clipped planchet and one that someone just cut with a pair of metal shears or a blade?

My apologies.... and since I spelled it wrong, blame me. "Blakesely effect".... The two links below should explain better than I can. http://dniewcollectors.blogspot.com/2012/04/blakesley-effect-on-clip-error-coins.html?m=1 http://www.error-ref.com/_curved_clips_/
I'd say it's 100% a legit clipped planchet. All the tell tale signs are there to support it. A weak Blakesley Effect and the weakness in the devices close to the clipped edge and the opposite edge. Nice find.
Thanks for the links guys! I put it up for auction and thought, are you really sure this is legit? I’m getting good enough in other areas that I can confidently list things for sell but this area is not one. I don’t want to put something up that isn’t legit and ruin my reputation before it even gets off the ground!
