nice coin. Austria 1877, 1 Florin, KM#2222, metal- .900 silver, mintage-13,963,000 grade/value from 2004 world coin catalog...probably more value now. F-$5.00 VF-$8.00 XF-$13.00 UNC-$25.00 not sure what your coins grade is ? XF-AU ?
Awesome info! I'd like to think it's an AU because when you run it under the light it still has some remaining luster, but more realistically it's an XF
I collect German type coins..Reichs era type and some earlier.I' m wondering if DD's , double die struck coins are premium? 1932A 4 pfennig..it does look like the R in Reich and the DEUT in Deutsch appear to be DD..Ill post better photos when I remove from holder
You inspired me to buy a few Vichy State occupation coins for my collection! I got these three for low price of $2.59 (USD) and shipping was free.
From an online dealer?? Or local shop? If from on line can you send me a link? Nice coins..and I'm always looking for Herman types..the ones I have are from WW2 era.
I got it on EBay from some guy in Florida. Here is the listing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-thr...gKBAOmgPggYd6CapW3Ock%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
This listing may interest you as well. I only wanted a few examples so this was way too many coins for me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vichy-Fran...d=192350826118&_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985
Here is a picture from the war issues under German occupation and similar pieces after WW2 from the French Republic under General de Gaulle.
Let's leave de Gaulle out here. Both types were around during WW2. The Morlon type (Liberté etc.) was issued between 1931 and 1959, first in aluminum-bronze and then, as from 1941, in aluminum. The regime in Vichy issued the Bazor type (Travail etc.) in 1942-1944 ... Christian
This one defies my efforts to get a decent picture, it's very attractive in hand. Prooflike fields and golden toning.
