If you do, cross your fingers.
    Irma is about to visit.

Actually I would expect NGC to have ample protection on site.
Or would have already moved much of the material to the north.

I think I'll check to see if their website is still up.

Having been headquartered in South Florida for such a long, long time, I would think that NGC took into consideration added storm protection when they had their new building constructed about 10 years ago.

I'm very confident that NGC has taken every precaution to secure anything submitted by their customers.

I've been trying to look up a certification number since yesterday evening on NGC's site and the site displays "Certification database is currently unavailable. Please try again later." It displayed the same this morning.

From NGC web site: Select Website Functions Temporarily Disabled: Verify NGC Certification, Verify PMG Certification, Verify CGC Certification and Submission Tracking have been temporarily disabled. These functions are expected to resume the morning of Tuesday, September 12.

I was getting something ready to send them a week or so ago and got distracted. Not so worried about them, but what a mess the postal/delivery service will be in the aftermath. Yikes!

I'm guessing they turned off the website stuff because no one will be around to address any questions should they arise.

They've likely done everything reasonably possible but at the end of the day if mother nature wants to flood them out mother nature will always win.

They probably took the servers offline and put them in the vault.

Thanks to this thread I now know that they're located in Florida and have much bigger things to worry about than certification look-ups. I also found the notice on their News page after I posted above. So that all makes sense. I certainly hope that they weather the storm well!

Yes, I have coins at NGC and thought the "broken" website function most likely had to do with storm preparation. Thanks to ToughCOINS for the link confirming that.

Hopefully my coins, and your coins, will "weather" the storm, but most importantly I hope for the safety of the NGC employees, Sarasotans, and all Florida residents.

No coins at NGC, but have a few in transit from Fla. Tracking says:"PROCESSING EXCEPTION REG WEATHER DELAY" Hope the US MAIL HUB is on high ground, and hope all are safe as well!

I live in the next county north of NGC, and I would prefer if all my coins were there for certification. I'm pretty sure they have better vaults then I'll ever own.

Like the time I got a certified coin back with saltwater damage!
