I never deal with modern U.S. coinage much. Always been a fan of the classics. But I recently bought a couple coins from @Agilmore01 (thank you, friend) that I thought I'd send in along with a toned Washington that I got out of an album. Here are the coins and what they graded. This 3 coin submission cost me $81.95 total. I mailed it with a few other submissions. All in all, only the Washington was a bust. Nice toning, but not worth the cost of submission. I may break even due to the toning premium. The others I should make something on, however.

I think I've said that about almost every Washington I've ever tried and basically gave up on them

Sweet deal! I had no idea the Ike would grade a 65. I didn't known if the ASE was NT or AT, but you got a straight grade. Glad I was able to help.

I can't get over how harsh PCGS is with Washingtons, yet how lenient they are with Ikes. Yes, I get that the Ike was a difficult and seldom full strike, but there's too much relief variety on face and neck to let them get away with as much chatter as is allowed for strike considerations. Even the 1878-S Top Pops at CoinFacts are chattery, and the 66+ illustrated there has a slash across the cheek and ear that would have been 100+ stitches if it were an actual injury.

Right? I totally agree. But I knew this Ike was a 65 because it has more luster than I usually see on them. The Washington literally has 2 tiny marks and a full strike. It's almost perfect but the grayish obverse toning mutes the cartwheel too much. So I suppose that's why it only got a 65. Sigh...
