Looks like the hurricane is projected to go East (I'm on the west coast). I know @ancientcoinguru is on the other side, hope she won't get hit so hard. @TIF stay safe!!!

Been putting up shutters all day. Taking a small break now. Better be safe than sorry. I still think the storm will not hit Florida in the end, but a bit of precaution never hurts.

Starting to put up my shutters too.

The problem is the track is very spread out. It could go east, west, or up the middle.

Dropped off all my coins at the bank.

A long time to wait to see what happens here.

    Hope TIF is ok!!!!!!!!!!

KUDOS on the brave people of Florida. I prayed on Sunday and will keep on so till the end of that wicked storm.
BTW.. Did the ancient people have deities of natural disasters. So far Providentia was meant to protect, but I don't know if disasters like storms or floods were included in Her protection. If so we can post some of relevant coins..

I planned to crop the pic and show the shirt on white only, but the yellow jacket in back may be one folks in Irma's path will be wearing. My thoughts are with Florida CTers also.

It's not bravery so much as there is no point panicking. All we can do is put up shutters, remove objects from around the house that may fly away in a storm, and stay tuned to the news, etc. And if the storm comes, huddle in a windowless bathroom until it passes. I've been through this before, and I suspect it won't be the last time. Yeah, it's right to be concerned, but preparing for the storm and having backup plans is better than going into panic...which is how some people manage to get themselves killed in these storms.

And here is Providentia to watch over all of us in the storm's path.

Jupiter is normally shown with a thunderbolt on coins. Many movies show him causing a storm and we know movies are always right. Ground struck by lightning were sacred to Jupiter. The bolt is three parts connected in the center.

I'm safe but it's not over. Windows blowing, bits of the building coming off, etc. Scary reports coming in from others on island. There will be massive destruction

I'm glad that you're safe at least - and with connectivity still! Hopefully it doesn't worsen too significantly.
