Both Numerian RIC Vii Lugdunum 394?

    I was going through my 'Numerians' and I noticed that two of the 'Silvered Antoniniani' shared the same 'reference'.

    Can you confirm that this is so, or have I made a mistake?
    RIC Vii Lugdunum (Lyons) 394
    (Silvering more noticeable in hand than in the photos.)

    Yup, both the same issue. RIC V-II 394.

    Numerian Ant.
    Obv:– IMP C NVMERIANVS AVG, Radiate, cuirassed bust right
    Rev:– PAX AVGG, Pax standing left, holding olive-branch and sceptre
    Minted in Lugdunum (B in left field) Emission 6 Officina 2. August A.D. 283 – start A.D. 284 (Bastien dating)
    Reference:– Cohen 43. Bastien 539, RIC 394 Bust Type F

    they also come with B in the right field which is scarcer

    I appreciate the confirmation. Both from the same mint but the spacing of the lettering on the reverse being somewhat different had me wondering.

    Since all dies were hand cut, it's not unusual to see differences like this.

    Your one IS nicely silvered, Chris. Mine have some silvering left but it is hard to photograph.
