This is about as good as a large cent can be...

    ...that is dug up from the ground that is. This is the best conditioned large cent I have ever found detecting. Found her at an old farm house front lawn about 5 inches deep, 5 years ago. Aint she purty?

    Nice find Jim!! That one must have been lost shortly after it was released from the mint.

    That is unbelievable! What was you reaction when you found that. Could you tell the condition coming out of the ground or did you have to wait till you cleaned it to realize how nice it was?

    I could tell it was gonna be a nice one because the coin was caked in dirt. Usually when they are covered with stuck on dirt, like a coating, they come out real nice. Its hard to explain, all coins have dirt on em but this one had the dirt stuck to it all over the coin. Usually keeps em preserved better.

    I think our Michigan soil has real good drainage. Not sandy. I have a picture of it somewhere before the cleaning. I think its on a disk. I'll try and locate.
