I just found this yesterday and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Could it be an extra column?

That's interesting... not sure either. I want to say that it could be a blister plating issue. But I'm not sure cause that looks pretty radical. Maybe even plantchet damage

It looks to be raised on the field suface. Did you poke it with a toothpick to see if it is a plating blister? Could it be from a Damage Die from a previous strike through?

I haven't touched it with anything. There are listed varieties of this year and mint with partial extra columns. I'm getting a toothpick.

Why would a column be way out there? If it's raised, it's a mint error of some kind. I want to say it's a plating bubble, but if that's what it is, it's the straightest one I think I've ever seen.

Have you looked at wexlers in the 1991 D pennies. The whole building IMG_2554.PNG IMG_2555.PNG

Oh my goodness. There must have been an earthquake at the Mint, that whole building is shaken off its foundation, I never seen one like that!

The OP has what appears to be a die chip or debris...Cheers, RickO
