    That's tough. There are more things I like about number 1 but I really like the extra mountain details on number 2.

    I can never to a good job evaluating pictures, but the obverse of #2 might just be dull due to dirt or residue. If (and it's a big if) the coin would benefit from a short soak in acetone and get rid of the dullness, then #2 is my choice. Extra obverse details and no big scratch on the check. But, as is, I would go #1

    If I had to choose I would go with 1. Detail observable on the back was the deciding factor.

    How about this, I like the obverse on coin one and the Reverse on coin Two. But since that can't be, always go with the better Obverse, Coin #1
