Good afternoon old friends Long time since I have posted here - tought a update was in order. In November 2015 I started to work for the Central bank of Iceland were the Icelandic numismatic museum. One of my main tasks as the museum curator is to photograph and list coins in the collection. As I have had a fascination with photography of coins - interest that started here many years ago - I can truly say that I am having a blast. I made a custom rig that suits me and have just started to upload the photographs and information on a site in Iceland. For those who are intersted you can see what I am doing. It is in Icelandic but you should get the geniral idea. http://sarpur.is/NyjustuFaerslunar.aspx?museumID=5&typeID=9&skraID=12&Page=0 All for now Siggi
Thank you Kentucky - I go with a smile to work everyday and it is partially because I stumbled onto this site years ago
Welcome back Siggi, we've missedi you. Funny thing........I was just thinking about you the other day, and here you are.
If you keep this up we may have to change your user name Siggi - Bad Penny. He comes, he goes, he comes, he goes, and he comes again

The photos are outstanding and by viewing them one feels engaged with Icelandic history. Thanks for sharing this and good luck with your new endeavor.
Since I'm new here, I don't remember your previous posts. But I would love to visit Iceland. It is actually on my bucket list.
Great to hear from you again, my friend. It's been a long time...far too long. I checked out your photo gallery, Siggi. Great work and a load of wonderful coins to see. Even though it's in Icelandic, the pictures tell me all I need to know. Just fabulous work!! Kindest regards to you and your family.. Bruce
Thank you, most of these that I´m doing now are Icelandic medals. Some very interesting ones for sure.
Bruce my man how good to see you here Thank you, some of the Icelandic medals are really nice but we do have some nice collection of coins from the US so I´ll let you know when they turn up
That is an awesome gig you've landed - how cool! I also have a fervent desire to visit Reykjavik and take a two day trip up to Nuuk, Greenland. Perhaps someday. I have some Icelandic coins, including the one below, and they're all amazing. Icelandic also kept the cool letters þ and ð which Old English had about 1,000 years ago. I'd like them back!!
