I received an older style $10 bill in change years ago but did not pay much attention to it. An hour or so later I presented the bill to the sales clerk in one of those large open air fruit and vegetable places, this one called, "Southern Produce." The clerk ran one of those counterfeit detecting pens across it then handed it back to me while asking for another form of payment. I tried to spend the bill in another store where it was refused, so I just deposited it in my checking account.
