Jeez Cody, I'm going to the wrong bank. :(

I think the banners alone are well worth the competition. I love the idea, but I need to see if my cameras macro mode is any good!

Thanks for entering, and those are some really nice looking coins, Twiggs. I'm sorry to say, however, that you can only enter 3 coins.

By the way, I like all the coins entered so far, and I'd like to remain impartial, but I just wanted to say those silver quarters are great! I've never seen one of those with the lynx on it. We don't get many silver Washingtons here, much less Canadian silver.

On September 4th, while roll searching, I found a 1988 Lincoln memorial cent with a reverse style of 1989(rdv-006). I sent it to Dr. James Wiles to confirm my attribution. He forwarded it to ICG. I got it back Monday, October 1st graded MS64RD. This is the third known example of this variety to exist, the only certified example and the FINEST KNOWN. This could qualify for many different categories in this contest. I tried to upload a photo but the file size is too large for this forum and I don't know how to resize it. What do I win?

This coin would have to be entered in the best error category, or coolest overall (or most unusual, but that wouldn't really fit). Since the value is unknown at this point, your find can't be assessed by the members here.

    Also, to resize the picture:

    Go to MS Paint
    Select: File
Select: Open from the scroll-down menu
    Double click on your photo
When the photo appears in the MS Paint screen, select: Image
    Select: Stretch Skew
    Change sizes from 100 x 100 to 50 x 50 to make the image 50%, or 75% x 75% to make it 25% smaller, etc.

Depending on what your coins are, the images don't have to be extremely clear. For instance, if your find is a worn out Morgan worth it's silver value, a picture that simply gives you an idea of the date and denomination is ok. However, if the coin is a 1999 Wide-AM Lincoln cent, then good pictures would be required.

So basically, clear pictures are definitely encouraged in every case, but no absolutely necessary in some cases.

silver quarters here in circulation are a rarity also. May see the odd dime now and then, but thats about it.
Thats why I like when people bring their rolled coin in to pay for junk..."what treasures lie within?" lmao

    Yup, that's fine!

So, anybody else want to enter? There's only 3 days left until the voting, and some categories only have one coin! I supposed I'll enter mine...

    (Better pictures soon)

    For best error:

2002 Lincoln cent, reverse rotation about 45 degrees. I found it last month in a bankroll.

    Nothing like the last minute!

Thought I'd enter a few coins- first is a Franklin half that I found in a roll, for the Most Valuable catagory

Next is a magician's half dollar / mexican coin from a roll for the coolest overall catagory:

Third is a 1984 Lincoln cent with a doubled die obverse, die #2, from a bag of cents, for the Best Error / Variety catagory

Thanks for entries, guys! There's some great stuff there. I'm not sure if I should vote in the contest, since I should stay non-biased. It might be a good thing, though, because the decision would not be easy.

Well, anyway, the submission forum is open all day today and all day yesterday, and you can post last minute entries on the morning of 10/7 if they are posted before I get on here to close the submission thread.

Here's mine found in rolls. A coworker that knows I collect gave me 8 rolls of Lincoln cents that he had saved from the early 60's. He was going to take them to the bank and thought I might want them. I got the rolls for face value and they contained 59, 60, 61 and 62 cents in five of the rolls.
The other 3 rolls contained 09 to 19 wheats, 20 to 29 wheats and 30 to 39 wheats. The coins where in AG to F condition. I let him know and he said keep them, I was going to take the to the bank anyway.

    There's more to this story.
