I'm thinking about buying a few replica coins of the later 18th century early US coins but want to try to find good replicas that are accurate to the detail of the original (minus the "copy" that is stamped on them).

Some of you may think thats stupid, but it's the same concept as buying a poster copy of a painting that is beyond reasonable costs to buy.

So for starters, does THIS look like a good replica (and price) of a 1796 bust dollar?

And what about THIS for the 1776 continental dollar?

If anyone has a good suggestion of places to buy accurate replica copys of these coins please let me know.

My faves are by the Gallery Mint Museum, which is no longer in operation, but examples are regularly available on the 'Bay.

Here's an auction for a Gallery Mint Museum 1796 Draped Bust Dollar and Dime, that ends within a few hours:

I prefer the dollar that you showed, it looks like it was worn and more like a real one.
If ya gotta have a fake, that is the way to go.
