OK, so I've seen a lot of posts showing what a fake 1776 Continental Curency (yes, mine has the misspelled version) coin looks like and now I am confused about mine. It's not "mushy" looking, and definitely not a new cast. What kind of coin dealer do I need to visit to look at this? Posting a couple photos for your expert eyes. If you all say it's a fake, it will save me a trip to a dealer. My great, great, great (not sure how many) grandfather did participate in the revolutionary war, so there is some possibility it's real. Thank you all in advance for your time! IMG_1054.JPG IMG_1061.JPG

If you look carefully under the sun's rays you will see the word copy. That is a dead give away.

It just doesn't look right to me. I can't put a finger on what my issue is, but it looks wrong. What do the edges look like?

Looks cast to me. I'm far from an expert, but in my opinion it's a cast copy.

The letter spacing is way off and the font. I believe the serifs should look hand cut into the die.

Hard to take a good photo of the edges - but here you are. No wording that I can see and it's not even. Pretty sure the metal is not pewter, but it could have copper in there. Thanks so much. IMG_1058.JPG

Those letters appear to be authentic.

Marked copy and there is also an R for replica to the left of the date. At least they were making sure it was properly marked!
