Would this be considered a brockage?

I got this is change today, I saw the reverse and thought PMD, but noticed the obverse didn't look like it was put in a vice or anything. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

The Obverse is a Misaligned Die Strike

The Reverse could be a Capped Die Strike not a Brockage.

    Interesting!

The coin has been buffed/polished on
on that side, based on the photo.

The weight of the coin, in grams or grains,
would be helpful to make a final determination.

Weight is what it should be.

Then it's probably a uniface reverse
    strike - another unstruck planchet
was laying below this planchet in the
    collar when it was struck.

The 'ghost' image of the reverse showing
is from the excessing striking pressure
of two planchets in the collar.

Thank you for the response. So the typical next question, is it worth enough to send to ANACS during a special or just keep it as a curiosity?

Chewmassa Now where could my pipe be?

Does that mean somewhere out there in the world there is a corresponding soul mate coin with a uniface obverse?

    Yes - there was another coin in the minting of this one;
who knows where it might be.

As far as value, I guess you could send it to ANACS -
don't think it's worth the PCGS or NGC submission fees in total.

Haha, I'll tell you what, you find the coin that was married to this one and I'll let you have it!

That gave me the value, so thank you.

Now that's a challenge worth accepting. They must be reunited!
