I have about 2 dozen error coins. Most of them are where most of the coin is bland and then there's a little bubble with the actual coin strike itself. Some are just off center, and some are off center and smooth edged vs. serrated like they should be. I want to sell them on ebay, but is it worth it to get them graded first? I appreciate the help. Carla
Howdy Carla - Welcome to the Forum !! It's hard to know exactly what you have based on the limited descriptions you have given us. Can you possibly post pics of the coins ?
Pictures (maybe) Okay, I've never done pictures before, and my photography skills suck, but let's see if this works: http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc223/clthames/ and http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc223/clthames/ Did that work?
from the pictures i can tell you the off center cents are worth $5 each, the off center dimes are $8 each, the clipped nickel is worth $6.50, the clipped quarter $5, and the clipped dimes $4. they are really not worth getting graded and certified. if you want to sell them on ebay, individually auction them off becuase you will probaly get more instead of them having one auction for all the coins. or a coin dealer would buy them from you, but you would get half of what you would normally get. call around and see what they offer.:kewl:
I don't know anything about coins, so whenever I came across an interesting one, I'd just save it. I have a feeling I've spent way more than I've saved. I just had a look at your list of coins. How did you come by them? I just bought a metal detector and am looking forward to (hopefully) finding more interesting items.
Carla: As an off center it should have smooth edges, so no added value for that. Nice accumulation there. Good luck. Frank
