    Great coins & great writeup! Apparently there is some question about whether Claudius actually achieved all that is usually attributed to him. There is a possibility that historians writing under Constantine shifted some victories from Gallienus to Claudius, because Constantine claimed descent from the latter.

    This is a wonderful coin. Shame on NGC for selling slabs that do not even mention what was on the reverse of such a coin! If you collect these, you probably noticed but NGC customers only care to see AU???

    Going through a bulk lot today I found this one. I think it's a reverse die match to the plate coin at MER/RIC!
