Driving down highway, was given a 1945 nickel back for change in Duluth.... it looked old and thought it might be worth something. Then I looked at the dime as they both looked old. 1968 with no mint mark. Could this be worth something? Don't think the nickel is worth much but the dime?
Just a normal circulated dime, worth ten cents. Your nickel on the other hand does have some value, as the war nickels were made from 35% silver.
Well worn, but probably worth close to a dollar. Copper and nickel were needed for the war, so nickel composition was changed to manganese and silver. War nickels were marked with the large mintmark over the dome of Monticello to indicate the different composition.
