Does this eBay purchase seem like I did ok ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...sid=m37&satitle=330169991247&category0=&fvi=1 Item number: 330169991247
So so IMHO. Kind of depends on how much S/H you paid for about $32 worth of silver plus some Buffs, IHCs, wheaties and a couple of clads.
About $8. I went through and added up what all the stuff would be worth in the lowest condition and it came out to about $75. That is Coin Values pricing, so it's a little high. That's why I try to bid at about 50% of their pricing.
I think you did pretty good. Nice job. :thumb: Post some pics when ya get them, never know what condition some of the wheats might be. Phoenix
Thanks ! I figured it as I was paying low end for the silver and getting the copper and nickels for free. I recently got a bunch of wheats, silver quarters, buffs, shield nickel, and a nice 2 cent piece. I swear I will not post every auction that I win. I'm just a little excited about getting to do something I love. I've never had a job that I've actually liked. The thought of possibly making a little bit of money from something fun just makes me giddy.
I don't see anything wrong with posting your good auction wins. I think that most of us that do the same thing like to see what others are buying. (so we can cry in our soup that we didn't see that auction) So as far a I'm concerned, post away.
Using about 10x melt for the silver + face for the non-silver, you get $42.79. You paid $46.64. Given that some of that silver would cost you more than 10x melt to buy it in a coin shop and the IHC's would cost at least $1 each, it's a good deal. Guessing from the seller's history, I think it's a safe bet that these coins have not been searched for varieties, which adds to the value (even if you don't find anything). Now if that 55D penny turns out to be a double die, then you did awesome.
Thank you all. Here's the 2 cent piece for Clembo to look at. I went a little higher than I wanted, but I like it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270170080630&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=017
Rotobeast Just curious as to what you think the 2 Cent coin grades in hand. I see so much over grading in the 2 Cent market especially eBay it has made it next to impossible for me to pick up nice reasonably priced examples. From the fuzzy picture in the auction I would have put the coin at VG10 maybe F12 if the WE is partially visible as it may be. Mr Vette called it VF to VF+ but you won it for just under F12 retail price. Looks like you did pretty well. I would post some links to some nicer 2 Cent coins that are not for sale but I am not sure if I am allowed as yet. Anyway back to lurking
I thought you did pretty well! All those Coins! Although they may not be in the best condition, they still looks like a deal \
Well, I was kind of gambling that the fuzziness was detracting from the true condition of the "WE" in the motto. The rest of the coin looks pretty decent, so I'm hoping the "WE" is just suffering from the blur. The "WE" aside, the rest of the coin has me thinking of it as a low VF. It's not a VF+. I'll put pics of it up, when I get it. Oh.... Don't be a lurker ! I'm just getting started into 2 cent pieces. You could be a wealth of information.
