I have recently obtained a barbarous imitative of a FTR Galley of Constans from Aquileia. It copiesa type I also have in my collection so I thought it would be informative to compare the two.

The following describes the official coin:-

    Constans - AE2
Obv:- D N CONSTANS P F AVG, Pearl diademed, draped & cuirassed bust right
Rev:- FEL TEMP-REPARATIO, emperor in military dress standing left on galley, holding Phoenix and labarum, Victory sitting at the stern, steering the ship
    Minted in Aquileia; (//AQP dot), A.D. 348-350
Reference:– RIC VIII Aquileia 99 (C)

A neat addition. The official one is great too!

@maridvnvm - Thank you so much for posting the original and the barbarous version of this coin next to each other for us. I enjoyed noting the differences. Each is beautiful and it's cool you have both.
