I have a 1941 s wheat penny that is different from all other wheat pennies I have owned. It's slightly thinner, same diameter as a regular penny, but has a "ring" sound to it (I can distinguish it by sound before seeing it), and most perplexing thing about it was when I weighed it compared to another 1941 s penny (which weighed 3.11 grams) and found that the odd looking, high pitch ringing penny weighed only 2.59 grams. I'm stumped and would appreciate any opinions or advice.
Sorry, but it suffered significant environmental damage after it left the mint. Maybe exposed to acid or some other corrosive material, which accounts for the low weight. It has no collector value.
