Yep, it's a novelty item. I believe these were first made in the 1970s, roughly contemporaneous with the actual Ike dollar. There are all different kinds of them. Not worth a whole lot, but "cute", indeed. I think that was the whole idea. One wonders how many kids swallowed 'em. They'd probably pass right on through with no problem, at least. LOL
It's a novelty. Not sure who made them but they did all denominations. No metal value attached to them but cute to have a full set.
I thought there was a process they could do to actually shrink a coin. Thought we had someone post it with a link to youtube. Too lazy to search for it myself.
These were gimmicks made and sold in the late 70s as "Inflation money" sets (cent through dollar) usually all enclosed in one 2x2 that would normally hold a half dollar. It shouldn't be hard to find the other pieces if you'd like the rest. The irony is that these held their value better than the real circulating coins, so the statement they made keeps ringing true. Whether it's considered a fake coin or a novelty non-coin falls nicely into a gray area that could draw far more discussion than it's worth.
