I was gifted a nice Marcus Antonius Legionary denarius by one of our illustrious and august group here on CT in order to help me to attain a complete collection of these denarii. It was a gift out of the blue and I am humbled beyond belief. With this coin, I now own 17 of the 34 possible combinations. Many here have helped by directing me to coins for sale and I appreciate all the help. There was a recent CT thread on Leg XII Antiqua, so I won't belabor it's history. WAY COOL on your milestone! A great collection, and very close to your collecting heart! All the way back to your acting days... CONGRATS! And I am inspired to slowly follow building a sub-collection for myself. Best to you, Brian
Here's to your pursuit of the next half of 'em! I'd have thrown something in the hat had it been passed my way. You deserved a nice "out of the blue" gift.
@Bing quite an army you are collecting. You will be ready to take over the known world soon. You can see a present day Leg XV below.
Cool gift @Bing I like everything about MA legionares but I've yet to pull the trigger on one. One would think that with my affection for battle/war history I would've focused on them.
Well, just wait till I get all the ones I need to complete my set. Just kidding. There are plenty out there at decent prices (mostly the examples I already have). You should go for it.
