Have a question about the 1970-S DD0 001 from this site, the 69 too... How in the world can you look at those coins and see a DD ? Just trying to figure it out from a LAYMAN's point of view... I just don't see it. http://lincolncentsonline.com/rarevarieties.html Know this type of stuff is common for you guys, just wanted to ask...
I am just wondering how you are not able to see it. Here are some close ups of the two you asked about. http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1970SDDO001.htm http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1969SDDO001.htm
At least you don't suffer this, Like a lot of newbies on this forum, thinking they have hit a gold mine.
I got ya, just I have been saving coins, 2 5 gallon bottles full and another steel Milk container (think 5 gallons half full).... I guess that would be 500 lbs worth or so... Going to give to my daughter, or if she marries and interesting type of guy, lead him into going thru them... I would have to think it would be like putting together a puzzle and my girl likes doing that... Too bad someone has not designed a machine, like the coin star machine that could go thru pennies, then nickels, then.... and so on and pick out these rarities with a great program... It can be done, or at the least, remove all dates not worthy of a second look...
I don't have one, haven't looked at anything, just have a hard time sometimes seeing the errors... I see items and conversations on this site that are intelligent past the point of someone not knowing the conversation or coin LINGO can not figure it out. If I were 10 and asking a question it would be cute, humbling for the adults on the site. If you are 52 and asking it looks like you are stealing info., trying to bust into an area left for the pro's and those not included in the CLUB - need not apply... Dry humor can be offensive to some and many have a hard time taking it with a grain of salt... I am fine with it... I appreciate the help...
