I've looked at that book on Amazon before and what persuaded me not to get it was the sentence in the review "Learn how he assembled and eventually sold his collection of 150 copper, nickel, silver, and gold coins for $1.5 million at public auction." I don't think I am ever going to be close to averaging $10,000 per coin.

Did you ever buy a Red Book?

but it does show you how he was able to buy certain coins and sell them for a profit, while other series were a hard sell, even in high grades. If you're considering building a type set, it helps show you where not to top out your budget in a series when the demand is low.

Although I'll never have a million dollar collection, it did show me where not to spend a lot of money when you're likely not going to make any money, and in most cases, he lost money.

Just about anything authored by Q. David Bowers should do the trick.

I bought the 2018 "Mega Red" Redbook and looked through it.

It isn't a book that one "reads" like a novel but there are some interesting things about US coins.

    :)

Is it specific to US coins? Because my main collection is German coins.
