HAAAY GUYS!!!! I was looking at a lower graded 2013 quarter, and I saw a bit of a reflection in the words of the obverse. I got my jewler's loupe, and looked at it closer, and I saw some defined doubling. I don't think it's mechanical doubling-it's a softer, rounder doubling, rather than the sharp tabletop of mechanical doubling- and I was wondering if any of y'all knew anything about it. Thanks!!!! I'll post some pics when I can get good ones.
You can see the clearest doubling in the "d" in "United" and the "C" in America. There is also some on the mint mark, the motto, quarter dollar, and liberty.
I see heavy doubling on the N. I thought when they changed the hub process (1990?) It was supposed to eliminate DD's?
Idk. It may be mechanical, but since its from a Pennsylvania mint, I'm guessing it's not. They are for some reason prone to problems with the dies.
