First off, I apologize if these topics are numerous. I happened to have stumbled accross my first star note (now that I'm looking at all my bills/coins..) and am pretty excited to have discovered it. Anybody care to tell me a little more about star notes? I know they're replacements of notes that were errored, but I'm still a little shakey on whether or not they're extremely common, even worth holding on to, etc. The SN is E06087267*, for those curious, and it's in pretty bad shape. >.<
this will tell you all about star notes. some are worth keeping, some are not. my general rule is this, if its a bill 1999 or older with a star, i keep. if it has a cool serial number with a star, i keep. if its rare, i keep. and usually if its crisp, i keep it too. hope these links help, and welcome to the forum! here is the place to see if your bill is rare or not. just scroll down to the series or year of the bill, click the denomination ($1,$2,ect), and then look under the block letter. so if your bill is E06087267*, look under E, and then see if your serial number falls into the catagory in a colored box. if the box is colored, keep it. if its in the white box, its not rare, and spend it.
