Which coin show would you attend if you could only attend one each year?

By accident of birth, and then by choice (to stay close to grandchildren), I live on the border of ND/MN, far from any of the major shows.

Attendance at a major show would require time and expense, and, although I'm a bit limited by time, I'm limited a lot by expense. Therefore, I would appreciate your input as to which show I should set my sights on, and, if you would, please give me your reasons.

    Thanks, CT guys and gals!

The FUN is hands down the best in my opinion, but I haven't been able to get there for the last few years.

I'd like to go to Whitman's show, but they cancelled the August one, perhaps the November one.

Canceled the August Show? To the best of my knowledge there was no Whitman Show scheduled for August. While I missed the summer show, I believe it was held in June.

As for the November Show, I doubt they'd cancel that. Moreover, I hope not, as I'm prepaid.

Because of where you live, in the Arctic Tundra, I would suggest the Winter FUN show in January, in Tampa. The show is huge, and that time of year is the only time I'm glad I live in Florida. Bring the wife and grandkids, stay for a week, hit the beaches and Disney, and everybody will have a great time.

Since I've never been to a big show, I think I'd choose a large Chicago show of some type, for local.

Fun Show, hands down. I've attended ANA shows and they pale in comparison to (FUN) in size, selection, and attendance.

FUN is put on by absolute coin nuts. Guys and gals who collect themselves. It's a major national show, sponsored by a coin club. If you're going to travel, travel to this one.

Probably my coin club's annual local show. It's pretty small, but it's fun to help out manning the front sign-in table. (I've never been to any of the big shows like FUN before.)

I have always wanted to attend the FUN Show.

After this thread, it's on my bucket list.

Thanks, everyone! It appears that the January FUN show is the winner. Coincidentally, our plan is to be in Florida this coming January (a month there, then driving to Arizona to spend a couple of months). I hope to meet some of you in January!

@NSP, where and when is your local coin show?

I've been going to the Winter FUN Show since about 1990, and it has always been worth my money and my time, even traveling from NH. There's no other show I can say that about.

It amazed me that the winter FUN show is bigger than the ANA WFM. That one fact made the decision for me. I now have to go

We should do a meet-up at the Winter FUN. Otherwise, seems like there will be a lot of out-of-towners wandering aimlessly through the streets.
