1809 Half Cent - was labeled Cohen 3....

    Curious about people's thoughts on this coin. I'm not sure this coin is even in any condition for attribution and it's my only half cent that I acquired from a collection a while back. There was an error on the labeling of this coin (mintage was incorrect and it was labeled G04 which I think was way over graded - I'm guessing PO01), so I don't trust anything about it.

    I'm happy just to confirm it is a poor man's place holder once owned by an uneducated/crooked dealer. Thanks again everyone.

    From the position of the date, the high ES and the leaf extending beyond the S in states, I would agree with C-3.

    I think it's better than P-01.
    AG-02. (03 max) The reverse is not too bad G-04 easy.
    The obverse is a 01 or a 02.
