I really have mixed emotions about CW pulling the forum plug. On the one hand, I am grateful they offered it because it allowed me to meet so many nice people, and learn a great deal. Besides, where I am now, with Coin Talk, I think is a great step forward. On the other hand, and I admit knowing next to nothing about site building, monitoring and sponsoring, I am somewhat miffed. CW is likely a multi million dollar biz with a lot of people making a lot of money. So, how costly could our little forum site have been? CW couldn't afford it!? I'm not really bitter, because I love the move we were forced to make. I might never have known about Coin Talk had it not been for the CW forum. It does seem like the middle class is the one that suffer when something like this happens, and I would guess most of us fall into that category. Enough rambling. I just hope this forum is able to endure, hopefully for many years.
For the last seven years Coin World has provided a free online forum. Due to declining usage and our company’s decision to direct resources to other endeavors, we will conclude sponsorship of the Coin World Forum effective December 30, 2004, at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Beth Deisher COIN WORLD This is the original post of Beth's and thank gosh for Conder he caught me in another of my errors. When I read the date i assumed it would be the end of the month which is on Friday (not paying any attention to the date) and so I picked Thursday to be ahead of the game. The solution as I see it is to have it on Wednesday, or 24 hrs earlier than originally planned. The time would be kept at 7 PM (MST) which would be: 9 PM (EST), 8 PM (CST) and 6 PM (PST). O.K. I've screwed it up bad enough, would anyone else like to make any suggestions? Please!
Wednesday is fine. As previously mentioned, I'll be signed on and reading whatever posts, but my name probably won't show up since I long ago lost my password. Anyway, see you Wednesday.
So it's Wednesday now? I'll try to be there, if I don't make it- I'll be thinking about y'all. Rachel
Oh...The pain of it all (wiping the forehead) How can we deal with it. A Party without the Queen of the Parterres..? (Did I say that right..?) Opps.... catman
Yep, one less "favorites" listing. I have a new password for the CW site, and it seems to work, at least right now. So, I look forward to saying good-bye at 7 tonight. Maybe we'll set a record for thre most on-line at that site at the same time!
I'll probably make an appearance, although I'm none too thrilled at the way CW ended it. They could at least have given us a few weeks warning on what was happening.
