Hello everybody, Here is a bust half I am considering purchasing. I would like to know your opinions on the grade, "original-ness" and other damage. My goal is to buy a bust half that has never been cleaned and is problem free. I suspect this one is ok in that respect, but I would like your opinions as well. Basically, is this a nice example of the bust halves you would buy if in the market? Thanks!
jake: Not bad looking for a reeded edge 1/2. Looks liek about a VF. Cleaned? I am not sure, probably not harshly. Note: on the Reverse in front of the eagle's beak there is a mark. I don't know, but it doesn't look like a die crack, possibly a scratch.
I would not say that coin is problem free, there's the reverse scratch as mentioned, I do think it has been cleaned, and it appears there is some damage by the top right star on the obverse.
