Yes, the guy is bonkers. You won't find any MS coins in a proof set. I would open it.

It is a proof set. The PC after the date in the lower left corner stands for Proof coins, the mint sets used UC Uncirculated Coins.

What's the difference from proof sets and mint sets?? Which has the better chances of getting a good coin. Also Proof sets have been touched and circulated or what is a proof set?

    Hello all,
Here is the coins inside of the sealed 1955 flat pack but now OPENED. Is there anything here of value or is it just the average stuff?? The nickel is so beautiful and the penny is too. They have a almost Mirror look to where I can see myself Please read the Language rules that are observed on the forum! scratched up plastic. All 5 coins are IMO very beautiful and flawless unless the plastic messed it up and there's a bunch a stuff I can't see.

These look like proof coins and not a mint set.
But I have been wrong before.
    These look nice.

It's a nice looking proof set. It's average. I would leave it in the plastic.

Short explanation. Proof coins are made for collectors and are not intended for circulation. Stronger striking equipment is used and selected metal blanks, that's why they look so purty. Uncirculated sets are made up of selected coins that have been struck on ordinary presses and were selected as being nice and sealed in plastic.

A quick look on e-bay shows 1955 flat pack proof sets have sold for from $60 to $150.
