Fiances home rental. There was a young kid there, about 12 or so. I know the renters, great couple and this is their Nephew here in Florida as they are moving down. Thus, staying at rental for a short while as they find a home. This kid was so excited to show me his coin collection. Said he started at a coin machine, reached in the bottom where the misses fall and found an indian head penny. That was it, he was hooked. Dad doesn't do or, no one, picked it up himself. I knew you guys here, the collectors would love that story. I told the kid, there is a site called coin talk and I go on it once in a while, not a true collector myself, but many of really great guys on the site, they can help you identify coins, value, etc. I got home and was wondering, can a KID post on here, is it an 18 and over site ? Would it not be wonderful to have a kid section ? To help them along, teach them what you guys do vs being about the money like I am... Telling you, this kid is truely a kool little guy, and so excited about it... In 3 minutes he was ,look at this one, and this one is, and uncle tony bought me this one and so on... So great to feel that joy and excitement thru a kid.... Anyway, wanted to share and find out if he can post here or not... I know from time to time there are adult conversations.
I know we have some as young as 13 here. "Adult conversations?" This is likely one of the tamest corners of the Internet the lad's likely to encounter, thanks to the efforts of the moderators here (and no, I'm not being sarcastic about that).
There's lots of younger collectors here. One of things that I've always appreciated about this forum is that it is so kid friendly. There have been several occasions when a young collector came here and members here sent them care packages of coins and supplies.
Oops. I thought you were the koolest little kid the OP was referring to. We're still glad to have you, though.
Remember @Cazkaboom ? He was 16 or so, but stayed with us for years. Makes an appearance sometimes. Perhaps a moderator would know our youngest poster, not a name, but an age.
Am a YN myself, been on a couple of years now. The moderators do a very good job of policing this corner of the internet. Good job guys. Sent from my ZTE B2017G using Tapatalk
@Youngcoin is 11 I believe and a regular poster... he made is profile say 29 to bypass something. Not sure what he was referring to?

Iilmcoins I am young yes but I am 14 I've been watching the site since I was 13 I put my date of birth older because I did not want to go through parental permissions because my dad's out of town 4 days a week and was gone and I did not want to bother him so I just set it older. Also I felt like that kid a couple of moths ago when I found two mercury dimes in the bottom of a coin star now look where I am, I also have gotten one of my friends into it we bike around looking for estate and garage sales because they tend to have old coins I don't buy any because I have no money but my friend does we find rolls and boxes we are thinking of asking our local bank to look through the coinstar reject bin but because we are young not sure how that will work but I'll try and get hi on here soon I'll help him set it up and have him write an intro. Also craigslist has alot of unseat he'd bags of wheat penny's and we thinking if there is one close by we can pick one up Thanks, Jacob (So sorry I double posted after I edited then I pressed back and it looked not posted so I re typed the whole thing.)
